The Plugins page allows the Site Administrator to view and configure plugins found in several broad plugin categories.
- Block plugins provide navigational and display elements to the sidebar, such as User information.
- Generic plugins include general-purpose plugins that are not better suited to other categories.
- Harvester plugins implement various harvesting protocols, such as OAI.
- Preprocessor plugins process harvested data before it is added to the repository.
- Schema plugins extend the repository's metadata format implementations.
- Theme plugins can be used to change the repository's appearance.
Help and documentation specific to each plugin can generally be found within the plugin directory itself: for example, help for the generic IP Ban plugin can be found in plugins/generic/ipban/README. You are able to upgrade and delete individual plugins through the plugins page, and install new plugins. Please note that to install or upgrade a plugin it must be compressed as a tar.gz file.
